THE PRINT GUIDE

From download to 3D print.

Your download contains model geometry. Use a slicer to prepare it for your own printer.

01 — Make it personal

Choose a design, then use its controls to enter your text, select a font and preview colors. Text limits and available options vary by design; follow the guidance in your customizer.

02 — Choose your download

Open Export to choose 3MF or STL, then select Download. The customizer defaults to 3MF, which can keep separate parts and color information together. Check the imported parts and material assignments in your slicer.

STL files do not store colors. Assign filament in your slicer using the preview as a reference. Some multipart designs export their STLs inside a ZIP; extract that ZIP before importing the files. The files included depend on the design and format you choose.

03 — Prepare in your slicer

Open the 3MF, or import the STL files. When separate files form one design, load them as parts of one assembly and preserve their relative positions. Check that your slicer has not moved each part separately onto the bed.

  • Use millimeters and start at 100% scale. Check the overall dimensions and that the design fits your printer’s build area.
  • Check each part’s filament assignment, especially for multicolor designs.
  • Choose a profile for your printer and filament. Inspect the sliced layers, lettering, overhangs and any moving or fitted parts.
  • Test print before making a batch. Scaling or changing print settings can affect fit and clearances.

A generated model is not a guarantee of a successful print. Print time, material use and fit depend on your slicer settings, printer and filament.
